Artist Statement
The choice of oil pastel facilitates the exploration of color, as well as the possibilities involving gesture and line. The movement , patterns , and reflections of water lend themselves to the drawing technique and provide an interesting surface and texture. The end effect is painterly but with the tactile nature of a drawing.
