Artist Statement
My work is figurative, drawn from life. Posed figures drawn in line with charcoal or pencil or painted directly in shapes with watercolor, or a mixture of both. I'm generally interested in where fashion and style meets a very old fine art tradition of studying the human figure and portraying inner life and emotion via the portrait. I tend to draw women more frequently than men and consider my work to be feminist at its core. I'm interested in portraying personality mood and inner life, and restlessness as well as style.
