Artist Statement
Part artist, part mad scientist. My focus is on creating interesting effects in glaze through the manipulation of chemistry. I primarily work with crystalline glazes, which allow me to grow various crystal patterns in the molten glaze. There are endless possibilities to be created by experimenting with the glaze chemistry and the firing process and no two pieces are the same due to the randomness of the crystalline growth. My canvas for these glaze explorations are porcelain vessels that I throw on the wheel.
