Artist Statement
I regard myself as a garment builder. These constructions are built to perform on a three dimensional form that is in constant motion- the human body. Sewing and expressing myself through dress started young for me. I received a solid foundation of the basics by my paternal grandmother beginning when I was eight years old. Art school then introduced me to language, history, creative problem solving, design aesthetics and materials. I continue to explore and question the most intimate part of our environment, our clothing, and how it carries the imprint of our character.
