Artist Statement
Nature, organic and spectacularly architectural is a wonder I stumbled into while making images of a very different subject. Color can inform as well as distract from the content of any subject matter. By removing the color, we became aware of certain details in these botanical specimens. It has been a journey of discovery for me and one that, given the plethora of plant life just here in the Midwest, I doubt can ever come to an end.
