Artist Statement
My functional pieces are primarily wheel thrown and then modified with hand built components. Surface treatments are of either natural ash, soda, or applied glazes. The pieces are then fired in a wood or soda kiln. My hope is that my functional work will not only be used, but will also have an aesthetic quality that invites people to enjoy owning them for the sheer pleasure of handling and viewing them.
