Artist Statement
My ceramic pieces are formed by a paddle and anvil technique that I learned while studying Anthropology in Peru. The thin walls are hand pierced when the clay is fragile and drying. I am inspired by forms in nature and the iconic shapes of terra-cotta storage vessels. I am looking to create a fresh interpretations of the ceramics we use everyday.
