Artist Statement
My pieces begin as a mass of molten glass pulled into long thin rods. These rods contain a series of concentric circles which can only be seen when cut into a small segment and turned on end. Hundreds, sometimes thousands, of these cross sections are individually arranged on a kiln shelf then fired to become a single surface. No two will be identical.
It is important to me to create art that is beautiful yet functional. My hope is my pieces are displayed then used as a part of everyday life.
