Artist Statement
Michael Croatt's pandemic experience led him to the night sky. His images marry midwest agriculture and astronomy, a metaphor for our impermanence and transcendence within immortality.
As an art photographer, Michael Croatt's stunning pieces are printed on thin aluminum, which gives extraordinary depth to the scenes he is witness to in Wisconsin's Driftless region. The Milky Way punctuates the sky in the background giving one a glimpse of infinity. The rural foreground scenes are symbols of our ephemeral existence within eternity.
