After I paint the portrait, I embellish each piece with hand sewing and curated findings combined to illicit emotional attachment. Each piece is handworked and one of a kind. My reliquary paintings are meant to honor time, culture, and history. The survival of these relics through paint serves as a memento of prior generations. The people in my paintings are catalysts; they personify my thoughts and ideas. The manifestations of my imagination are instinctual and brought into existence through the relics and immortalized in paint.
