Artist Statement
I spent a portion of my youth living in the South Pacific which had a great influence on how I approach art. I fell in love with the reflection of the sunset dancing over the glassy water, peering into tidal pools, collecting shells, and the vibrancy of the habitat around me. I feel compelled to capture the beauty I see in the world with my work. At first I was a painter, however the moment I discovered glass I knew I had found my medium. Glass was a way to paint three-dimensionally, involving color and light.
