Artist Statement
The act of creation is a powerful force. It often involves the destruction of one thing to produce
something new. As I work at the jewelry bench, I often meditate on creation stories of both a
geological and spiritual nature. My work explores the spaces where modern meets rustic and sleek meets organic. I gravitate toward organic forms and fluid textures, and I use traditional metalsmithing techniques such as fabrication, fusing,
and stone setting to express big ideas in the form of small silver and gold wearable sculptures.
