Artist Statement
Atmosphere and light have always been a joy to experience and evokes a strong sense of emotion. When we're in the field, we find ourselves being drawn to the conditions where atmosphere (rain, fog, snow, bad weather in general) interacts with light. The images we've captured reflect this.
We prepare each piece of metal for a specific image by concentrating on four areas:
1. How much metal to expose?
2. Movement
3. Texture
4. Color
We start with a bare sheet of aluminum and begin applying various archival products to achieve these goals. Each application creates a unique design on the metal that will complement the printed image. Then we print using a large format printer in our studio.
This process creates an image that expresses the light, atmosphere and movement that we love! Enjoy!!
