Artist Statement
I focus on the elemental form of the primary material, shibuichi. This metal forms both the structure and composition of each piece and is meant to mimic a natural flow, fold, and tearing of the material. The addition of clean constructed lines as in the 18k gold geometric shapes and stone sets are to contrast and enhance this raw natural form of the composition and patina.
