Artist Statement
I develop my paintings out of chaos on the canvas with a layer of handmade paper. I build a design with acrylic paint and acrylic paste for a matte surface that is sanded then painted on again. I add watercolor crayons and pencils for geometric definition to the design in contrast to the organic textures of the previous layers of the painting.
