Artist Statement
Participating as part of the New Art, New Artist College Student Program. I make furniture and functional objects from wood. A recent research project about traditional Japanese joinery techniques has led me to incorporate these types of hand-cut joints into my work. I also often include hand carved elements to my pieces for surface detail.
